Ákos Csertán: Design for the Capitalocene
Ákos will talk about how Design Thinking has lost its momentum as a force for good through its too direct integration to business, how newer approaches in design-related philosophy can provide new grounds for designers to rebuild their creative approaches from for a more impact-driven practice, and how the understanding of traditional and modern business innovation frameworks can support designers in tackling the business aspects of impact and sustainability better - empowering them to create positive change on scale.
Ákos Csertán is a design strategist and CEO at Atlas, Rise! - an impact driven innovation community working with enterprises on designing socially and environmentally sustainable digital products. He has been teaching UX, design theory and design strategy at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design since 2014.
Norbert Krizsán: To err is human but to succeed is machine?
Everybody is making the right choice at the moment of deciding – from their internal point of view. Even if that choice turns out to be the wrong choice milliseconds later. Norbert’s view is that the problem lies in the lack of human capabilities to assess the consequences of any given choice. While the burden of this clairvoyance is somewhat lifted from our human shoulders by the rise of non-human agents, and while there are areas where tireless AI systems have better judgment than us, the question that this talk will explore remains: do we need better decisions or do we benefit more from learning from bad decisions?
Norbert Krizsán’s current role at Mito Digital as Strategic Advisor is to lead and manage all design efforts, maintain and improve the quality of their designers’ professional level, and coordinate with their clients on new projects to create solutions that are not only viable and feasible but have the right impact from both social and business point of view as well.
